We got up this morning and found out that the Easter Bunny came! We went and got Zaiden and we hunted around the house and found out the Easter Bunny hid his Easter Basket in the shower! There was some candy, the game Barrel of Monkeys, and Zaiden’s favorite: Thomas the Train! He just LOVED it. The older kids at his daycare play with Thomas and he’s grown quite fond of that little train so having his own just made him extremely happy.
After that we mosied over to the Stapleton Fellowship Church for Easter Sunday service. Currently, they’re having services in the gym of a local tech-grade school. It worked out OK for us. Zaiden was great and he really enjoyed clapping along with the music.
We started to drive home from church and Zaiden fell asleep. We decided to just drive around a bit to let him sleep rather than try to get him home to sleep in his crib (he doesn’t “transfer” so well all the time). We ended up driving by a couple of houses we are thinking about buying (we’ve since decided against them) and wound our way over to Pasquini’s on Broadway for lunch.
We came home and just had a great little family day. As expected, Zaiden had a wonderful time playing with Thomas. When it was time to go to bed, I asked him if he would say “good night” to Thomas. He started to cry but through his cries he said, “Nigh nigh, Thomas.” and put them down on his toy box. It about broke my heart to hear him feel so sad about saying “good night’ to Thomas but still do so. He was so sad but it was so cute and sweet. He’s a great kid and we had a wonderful Easter.
